Edition One Books ceased operations in 2025

For over 18 years, we had the honor of producing many (millions) of beautifully designed books for customers of all types. We started out with fine art and documentary photography books mostly because that is what I studied and knew well - our first customers included photographers Linda Connor, Arno Minkkinen, and Michael Light. It was a very fortunate way to start a book printing business, and likely earned us more trust than we deserved in those early days.

Over the years we printed for the biggest names in tech, major museums, universities, wine and hospitality firms, etc. We also had the privilege of printing some of the most elaborate and wonderfully researched family histories — those books I am particularly proud of. More often than not, those personal histories were moving, inspirational, and humbling.

Edition One did well for many years. The Covid pandemic proved to be both a boon and a bust in the end, and despite making our best books over the last few years, the business never fully recovered. After a lot (like 4 years) of consideration, I decided it was time to close the lights and move on to other things.

Thank you to all the creators - writers, visual artists, designers, academics — heck, even the advertising people.
